Fruit tree against the light

About us

The Fritz and Margot Faudi Foundation supports research projects on methods of conserving clean air, water and soil, the development of cleaner production methods and energy conversion processes as well as climate change issues.

Since 1973, almost 9 million euros have been provided for fundamental and application-oriented research work. With the support of more than 100 projects to date, the innovative founding approach of promoting forward-looking environmental and energy topics lives on. The Executive Board decides on the allocation of funding with the support of the Scientific Advisory Board and external experts.

We also support the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship at TU Darmstadt with ten scholarships totalling 18,000 euros each year.

Current call for funding

The Fritz and Margot Faudi Foundation supports research projects on

  • Air, water and soil pollution control methods
  • Development of environmentally friendly process engineering production methods
  • Development of environmentally friendly energy conversion processes
  • Topics related to climate change
Funding is once again available for application for the 2027 to 2029 period. Initially, pre-proposals of approximately 2 to 3 pages are requested for a project duration of 2 to 3 years. Applications for seed funding for new research fields are also particularly welcome.
From the pre-proposals, the Foundation’s Advisory Board will select the projects for which full proposals may then be submitted. These must be structured and prepared according to the DFG format. They will subsequently be submitted to external reviewers.

Applicants are requested to submit their pre-proposals to Prof. Heinz-Peter Schiffer by February 1, 2026, either via internal mail or by email:
